First document is a true copy (attested by John Avery) of a petition dated 9 July 1777 by William Jackson, a loyalist of Boston, MA, asking permission of state government to leave for Europe. Includes a note dated 14 July 1777 that Jackson's petition was granted. Second document is a true copy (attested by John Avery) of a petition dated Boston 13 June 1786 by William Jackson [after his return from exile] requesting the return of his house at Cornhill. Also includes certificate of Elisha Parkman concerning his employment as a clerk in the store of William and James Jackson, ca. 1775.
